About the Event

There’s a taste of old New Orleans in every bittersweet sip of a Sazerac. The White Lady made her first appearance in sophisticated Jazz Age clubs, while drinks like the Mai Tai are rooted in tropical culture. Like all legends, cocktails have rich origin stories that add a whole new enjoyment to your mixology experience. Join professional bartender and spirits historian Alexi Fisher for this subscription series of three, one-hour online classes where you and your fellow connoisseurs will craft sumptuous cocktails and take a deep dive into their fascinating backstories. Subscription Series Schedule Class 1 (October 28): Basil Fawlty & White Lady Alexi will teach you to mix two gorgeous drinks that are as easy on the eyes as the palate (they’re also atmospheric additions to grown-up Halloween parties). Class 2 (December 2): Mai Tai & Zombie Make these succulent stunners as Alexi shares the origins of the tropical aesthetic and explains how to give deserved recognition to the diverse Pacific and Caribbean cultures that inspired it. Class 3 (December 22): Ramos Gin Fizz & Sazerac Alexi takes you on a flavorful trip to New Orleans with two drinks born in the Big Easy: the tall, cool Ramos Gin Fizz and the classic Sazerac. This subscription is an amazing gift to lovers of cocktail culture, a favorite couple (just think: three months of date nights), and anyone who’s keen on culinary history or wants to level up their mixology expertise. Make an even more special gift of it by adding in the optional Sazerac History Glass, a vintage-inspired highball that showcases the drink's origins, measurements, and instructions for flawless refreshment. To enroll or share as a gift, select the date for the first class above (October 28) and the next two months will automatically be added to the order. Subscription FAQ Can I reschedule any of the class dates? Because our class subscription is meant to be taken consecutively with the same group, rescheduling is not available at this time. If you have to miss a session, no worries! Just reach out to help@uncommongoods.com and we can send you a class recording. When will I receive the Zoom link to each class? You will be emailed a link 24-48 hours before each class session. If you would like to change which email address receives the links, please reach out to help@uncommongoods.com. How do I gift this class subscription to someone else? Experiences make great gifts! To gift this class, simply purchase the class series. By default, order confirmations and event details are sent to the purchaser’s email. If you’d like the details sent directly to the recipient, email help@uncommongoods.com with the recipient’s email address and your order number. Note: They will be notified via email once the change is made, so wait until your recipient knows about the gift to swap their email—we don't want to ruin the surprise!
