About the Event
On June 17, 2021, Congress assigned June 19th as a federal holiday, known as Juneteenth. While celebrated by people of color and those of the black community since 1866, this motion was pivotal at the beginning of a mass understanding of this holiday and what it represents.
In honor of this most wonderful holiday, we have organized a special event celebrating America’s Black Bartenders with Alexi Fisher, owner of the Cocktail Collective and The Hammered Copper, and host of the podcast The History of Drinking. We will also be discussing the importance of the holiday and how to make space for those who celebrate.Â
This is a collaborative event with several amazing guest speakers.
